THIN DENSE CHROME SOLUTIONS FOR AEROSPACE COMPONENTS
Using the Armoloy Electrolizing® coating for aerospace components has many advantages. Below we will discuss the main reasons you would choose Electrolizing® in order to reduce maintenance costs and enhance performance.
USING ELECTROLIZING® IN THE AEROSPACE INDUSTRY
Armoloy Electrolizing® is a hard chrome coating for aerospace components that require improved wear, corrosion resistance, broad temperature range, and uniform deposits. With deposits that can range from 0.00005” to 0.001”, and tolerances of +/-0.000025”, the thin, precise, hard coating ensures component tolerances and functionality remain true to design.
Considered a cold process (<180°F), Electrolizing® prevents distortion, annealing, and dimensional changes from occurring in the base metal.
KEY BENEFITS
- Fully certified to AMS 2438
- Thin even deposit that does not require secondary machining
- Deposits as low as 0.00005” will not affect part tolerances
- Increased wear resistance
- High hardness
- Cold application process means no part distortion
- Enhanced corrosion resistance
- Extensive onsite testing and quality control
- Absolute bond to base metal
- Performs in a vacuum environment
The Electrolizing® surface coatings were designed for ferrous and non-ferrous base metals. Al-Coat® was developed to support Design Engineers who needed a surface coating for aluminum substrates that required the same performance enhancements that Electrolizing offered.
CUSTOM SOLUTIONS FOR EVERY AEROSPACE APPLICATION
Electrolizing® has decades of experience meeting the demands of the Aerospace Industry, working with some of the most recognizable names in this field. We work closely with each of our customers to establish requirements and tailor a solution that best meets those needs.
